    Description

    Staffordshire Imari Chinoiserie Bread Plate
    Measures - 6 1/2" in diameter
    Condition - Great shape with no chips, cracks or crazing and only light signs of use. There might be some minor crazing and a tiny speck or two of paint loss.
    The design of this piece incorporates strong elements of Chinese culture. The peonies along the rim are the unofficial flower of China and are symbols of spring, beauty and reproduction.
    The mountain stones represent the pursuit of immortality and water represents existence.
    The backstamp was used in various forms by just about every major china manufacturer of this kind in Staffordshire at the time. It could represent any of them. Using it as a guide, I would date this piece to the mid 19th century.

    RETURN POLICY
    We carefully inspect all merchandise multiple times before shipping it out to our customers. Therefore it is our expectation that the merchandise will match our descriptions and customers will be satisfied with their purchase. If for ANY reason, you are unhappy with your purchase, we have a no hassle return policy. You may return your item, no questions asked, for a full refund.  However, we will not provide partial refunds and allow you to keep the merchandise. If you have any questions about our return policy, feel free to ask.
    SHIPPING COSTS;
    Your postage charge is based on what the USPS charges us on both foreign and domestic packages.  We do add a .00 handling fee to help defer packing costs
    COMBINED SHIPPING;
    If you are buying more than one item (or even several of the same items), please contact us BEFORE paying. To get the most economical shipping rate, request a combined shipping invoice directly from us. The Ebay system does not handle all the complexities of combined shipping and may overcharge you. So, if you are ready to purchase, put your items in the Ebay shopping cart and use the option “request total from seller.” If you would like a combined shipping quote, please email us and include your zip code.
    INSURANCE;
    All Ebay sales are covered by the Ebay Buyer Protection Program. Therefore, we do not recommend the purchase of separate postal insurance. If you decide you wish to purchase postal insurance anyway, please understand that there will be an additional charge.
    INTERNATIONAL CUSTOMERS;
    We are very appreciative of our international customers.  However, please be aware that we will NOT falsify customs forms by stating that your purchase is a gift or by understating its’ value.  Please expect to have to pay customs charges and any related fees.  These fees are determined by your country's government.  We do not know the customs charges in your country and are in no way responsible for them.   Additionally, packages can be held up in customs and take longer than expected for arrival.  Unfortunately, we have no control over that. If you are purchasing an antique item and want us to include that fact in the customs documentation, please email us that request.
