    Description

The Fada model 1000 Catalin "Bullet" tube AM radio ranks among the design icons of the 20th Century.
This Radio is also referred to by collectors as the "Bullet" radio or occasionally the "Streamliner". It epitomizes 1940s Streamline design. It's sleek, rounded lines suggest speed and practicality, hallmarks of streamlined industrial design from this era. The Bullet's dial is very attractive with moving lines molded into the gold background and a spare, modern font for the frequency markings.
The letters F-A-D-A are the initials of Frank Angelo D'Andrea, who founded the company in the 1920s. FADA produced many radios and televisions over the years, but its Catalin radios, particularly the bullet are the best-known models.
