    Description

    Lovely Staffordshire England early deep blue pottery plate with castle, ruins and bridge scene circa 1840-50. The unusual border is surrounded by leaves and stems..then dotted with small flowers. Measures 9 3/4 inches across. There is no maker's mark.  In very good preowned condition, a few light faint surface scratches and some tight crazing throughout. There is a small dot of a glaze miss where the plate lay in the original firing kiln. (see photo)   No chips or cracks.  A very pretty plate.
