EARLY 1800'S ENGLISH CREAMWARE MOTTO PLATE
DESCRIPTION
Here is a wonderful hard to find, early 1800's
English Creamware Motto Plate with Hand Colored Floral Reliefs.  Antique Creamware Motto Plate "From rocks and sands And every ill. May god preserve the sailor still."  Colorful Embossed and Enameled Border ~ 7" in diameter A rare plate with embossed flowers and scrolls enameled in beautiful bright color palette.  The border flowers are enameled overglaze and the rim is painted in the same iron red enamel.  The underside has an impressed and hand drawn mark, I am not sure if this is prattware.   In very good condition, the underside has a shallow glaze flake, seen in the image of the edge.  The glaze is still very glossy.   A beautiful example of early hard to find English pottery, porcelain, soft paste, pearlware / creamware.
