    Description

This is a very old 1830s-era Staffordshire-type pottery children's mug / cup. This is from Benjamin Franklin's "
    Poor Richard's Almanack
." It is a transferware mug that reads "
    Franklins Maxims.
" There is an illustration of a farm with some sheep on one side and men with barrels of beer? on the other. It is in really nice condition. I do not see any cracks or chips except for the normal crazing in the glaze. On the very top of the rim there is a little spot that is not a chip but looks to be a factory flaw, probably a burst bubble that happened during firing. It measures 2-5/8" tall with a diameter of 2-5/8". A really cool early-1800s piece. See my eBay for a Franklins Maxims plate.
